The sons buried their own father themselves. All of Shereshev is greatly agitated over the following extraordinary case which happened there: this week Mr. Landin, a rich Jew who left quite well-to-do children, died in Shereshev. The representatives of the kehilla met and decided to take 500 zlotys from the family of the deceased for the plot and the burial. But the children of the deceased are stubborn and stingy brutes — they made a great row, attacked and badly beat the Shereshev parnas, Mr. Kabizhetsky, and thought in this way to frighten off the kehilla. But when their strength did not count and their insolence did not help, the sons rolled up their sleeves and took on the work themselves: they themselves performed the purification of their father, themselves dug the grave for him, and indeed themselves buried their own father. The Pruzhany kehilla, however, has decided to collect the 500 zlotys by force all the same, and has sent the payment order to the tax office for enforcement. The kehilla has also decided to take action against the shameful attack on the parnas Mr. Kabizhetsky. It is worth adding that one of the Lundins is a candidate for the Pruzhany kehilla on the so-called list of "the Shereshev poor", which competed with the list of the Zionist bloc. That is how they look, the newest "providers" for the poor, who cosy up to the poor people in order to win their votes and — above all — in order to armour their own pennies in their rich pockets...
