In accordance with the decision of the kehilla board, which was adopted on the initiative of the local rabbi, Rabbi David Feigenbaum, and of the kehilla chairman, Reb Feivel Goldfein, a eulogy was held last Sunday at 6 o'clock in the evening in the Beit Yaakov study house for the late Chief Rabbi of Knesset Israel in the Land of Israel, the great Rabbi Avraham Yitzchak HaKohen Kook of blessed memory. Before a packed study house, the local rabbi, Rabbi David Feigenbaum, eulogised the great departed. In deeply moving words the rabbi characterised the great personality of the departed, who was a great man in Israel in Torah and in virtues and was esteemed not only by the Jewry of the whole world but also in the outside non-Jewish world. The Palestine government regarded the departed with particular sympathy, and because of this Rabbi Kook had great influence on the High Commissioner and was able to accomplish much for the Land of Israel and for immigration. Rabbi Kook was that great religious authority who stood guard over Torah and faith in the Land of Israel, and the loss is great for the Jewish community of the Land of Israel and for world Jewry in general. Rabbi Feigenbaum's eulogy deeply moved the audience and many wept over the great loss that has befallen the Jewish people. Y. —ski.
